Meditation is hard because I never know just how much I'm supposed to be doing. After a few years, I have an answer for myself at least. Not all that much.
You don't need to be reaching jhanas or bringing yourself to ego death or struggling with a frustrating empty void that screams for stimulation. You don't gotta be doing all that. What you need to do is take about 20 or 30 min at the start of the day to sort through your thoughts. Follow any anxieties you feel and resolve them. Go over your schedule and set yourself on a path. It's not that big a deal. Get rid of obstacles, set your trajectory for the day, check in, and get the fuck over it.
There's actual shit to do out there. What you do in your own head is only to support that.
